- to protect your privacy, please do not include any identifying information like full name, birth date, phone number, address, email, website links, etc., in your story or comment

- to avoid casting blame, please do not use specific names or dates which might identify a particular person or location

- please include your first name only (real or pseudonym) and your country's name

- stories should be between 1000 and 5000 words (1 to 5 pages single spaced) - if possible, please share ways you have found to improve the quality of your life as a survivor of child sexual abuse

- comments can be about a story, another comment, or any related topic and should be between 500 and 1000 words (a half to one full page single spaced)

- if you send in a story or comment which indicates that a child is currently being abused, or is in danger of being abused, your submission will be forwarded to the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline for referral to state and county child protection and emergency services in your area - otherwise, to protect the privacy of contributors, we delete emails and shred letters we have received as soon as a story or comment is published

- if you are, or a child you know is, being abused - verbally, physically, sexually, or by neglect - you can dial 911 for local emergency services, and you can call The Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline 24/7 for referral to state and county child protection and emergency services in your area at (1-800) 4-A-Child or (1-800) 422-4453
